It seems like it's been forever since I've shot anything, and it has, but things are finally picking back up after a nice winter break. My first shoot this year, Ross and Kristen, went really well. The weather was perfect and these two were AWESOME! I barely had to say a word, they stole the show and I just snapped away.

The bridal fair was a hit! I had a great time and was really happy with my booth. I met a lot of great people and had a great time! The Robertson Family

Dr Robertson is my dentist and this will be my 2nd year of shooting him and his family! You can see the shots from last year here . Both years I went to their home and we walked around in their neighborhood. It was great for them because it's SO much easier on their kiddos being in a familiar place. AND they had another baby since last year!! I had no idea! I should get my teeth cleaned more often apparently, I'm not sure how I missed her entire pregnancy!! And she looked exactly the same, gorgeous, you could not tell she had a baby just a few months prior!

Neil and Lindann

Neil and Lindann were so much fun! She was quite bashful for the cam, but Neil was a pro, you'd think he was a male model, I think he had more fun than all parties involved! :)
We met at Knoop Park and just fired away. They had some of the cutest sweetest tender moments for me to photograph, it was perfect.

Meghan's Bridals

We did a rush bridal session with Meghan because her dress was not finished in time to do them sooner. So we drove to downtown NLR onto the river trail and utilized a beautiful empty field and then hid under the railroad bridge and dodge the cyclist through out the shoot. I'm sure they were stoked that we were in their way! LOL! Meghan was really nervous but she relaxed and we both had fun and I was really pleased with how the images turned out! I liked the pics under the bridge the most!

Best Friends Forever

I had the priveledge of shooting 3 incredible gals this weekend. Grace just turned 11, and for her birthday her mother gave her a photoshoot with me! So I took off with Grace and her two best friends downtown and had a super fun shoot with them. They were super awesome, they coordinated perfectly! (much better than most adults I might add! hehe)
They had sas and priss and attitude, very "Charlie's Angels." I love it!

And for those of you who remember, I shot Grace and her two sisters last year . Since I had them I snapped a couple of the sistas as well, so here they are one year older!

Kevin and Erin

Kevin and Erin had the coolest wedding at Kinnakeet Shores Beach Club . It was a full day with tons of family and friends. They had a sandcastle contest for the kids and they were so impressive!! Half way through the reception all of the kids were in the pool and they managed to push Kevin in too! By the end of the night the entire wedding pary was in the pool, clothes and all! It was so much fun and it was a gorgeous ceremony!

I have had the wonderful privilege of going to New York for an engagment shoot! Natalie is from Hot Springs and Junior is from New York, and since they are getting married here in Arkansas we are doing their engagements and bridals in New York. Lucky for me! YAY!! I had SO MUCH fun in New York, these guys were awesome and showed me around. I could so live in that city!! I heart NYC!! :)

Ironically, we primarily shot in Central Park most of the time, I know I go to NY and shoot in the park..hehe...BUT it rained the day we were going to do the city shots, but we got a couple. And it's okay, cause I'm going back in the spring for her bridals and can do some more then! :)

Oh my goodness, these two cracked me up! I loved hearing their stories of how they met, and his first line and all the silly things inbetween. They were super fun to shoot, and were such troopers in the heat, it was SO HOT the day we shot.

This precious little girl was actually a flower girl at one of the weddings I shot back in March. So her mom hired me to do pics of just the two of them before she started kindergarten. Last of the "little girl" pics, she's getting her hair cut and starting school, so she's a big girl now!! We met at a beautiful lake in Cabot and after being attacked my mosquitoes, we actually had a great shoot. She looks just like her mom! They are both so beautiful!

Chris and Chelsea

Chris and Chelsea were super cute to photograph! They were up for anything and the venue's were great! They got married at "Chapel on the Creeks" in Rogers, and the reception was at a country club, I can't remember the name LOL, I'm waiting on Chelsea to call me back! hahahahaha!

Oh, and they had this REALLY awesome car, a pink Cadillac. The best part is that this guy doesn't do this usually. Actually, he said this was his first time. Chelsea saw him on the road days before the wedding and pulled him over and asked him to if he would come to their wedding!! HAHA! Love it! That is so something I would do! "never hurts to ask" is my moto! :)

This ring bearer did NOT want to walk down the isle. But the other little boy was going to make him, so after several attempts at turning around, he resided to giving the groom his ring pillow and turned around and walked back up the isle, stopped and just stared at me.

These guys are my first official destination wedding!! It was so awesome, they brought me with them to Cancun, Mexico. OMG, can I just say that I LOVE LOVE LOVE Mexico? We stayed at The Moon Palace Resort, and I never left. That place was SOOOOO amazing. I have to go back one day just for vacation, however, going for work was pretty awesome too!!

The ceremony was at noon, the weather was perfect, not to hot! We did some fun pics afterwards and they left to another resort for their honeymoon. Beautiful ceremony, great people and loads of fun!!

The long lost blogger

Yes, I know, it's been like 2 months since my last post. I know you must be wondering if I have been working at all or if I still take pictures! LOL

Yes and yes. I have been working, I have been SO BUSY!! This was my busiest year yet! I am not complaining, I have loved every single minute of it. However, blogging just sort of fell by the wayside. I forget about it. So I have just posted a big line of blogs. It doesn't catch me up, but it gives you something to look at for a bit.

So enjoy and I will try and do better with my blog!

Megan's Bridals

Megan was a babysitter for me many many years ago when the only child I had was Tori! She was the first sitter I had when I moved to Little Rock! The day she became engaged she called me elated and hired me right then, it was such a pleasure to take her pics. I swear, she just doesn't seem old enough to be getting married!!!

Adam and Merritt

Here are just a few of my favs from Adam and Merritt's wedding. They were so precious. After they were married Adam scooped Merritt up in his arms and looked her so sweetly in the face and said "Hello Mrs. Hambrick!" Then lay a movie making kiss on her! I about melted!!

Adam is a musician and he wrote Merritt a song to sing to her as she walked down the isle (yes, tear jerking, I cried) So he wrote the lyrics out for her and had a someone bring them to her before the wedding! This is what I chose to use for the ring shot.

I (being a Mac user myself) took great delight in finding the groomsmen hovered around a beautiful Macbook Pro while waiting on the ceremony to begin!

So my 3 year old, Julianne was riding in my lap on the Rocket Slide at Burns Park in NLR. Sounds safe right? Yeah, not so much. I had her arms and legs tucked into my own, but at the end of the slide it dropped and turned sharp to the left. At this point Juliannes left leg let loose and slammed into the side wall of the slide, breaking her shin bone. I heard it pop and her scream and OMG, off to the ER we go. Poor baby! She's all better now, but seeing as I'm behind in my blogging I figured I'd still include it.

Katie had no idea she was so beautiful! She has the really rich brown eyes that are so much fun to photograph cause they just glisten! She was really nervous at first, but the more photos I showed her the more relaxed she became and before you know it I had America's next top model on my hands!! :)

It was so cold the day we did Merritt's bridals, and we stumbled across two of the coolest places I've ever shot before in my life! One was just a big open warehouse that just happened to have an open door. The 2nd was this woman's really cool studio apartment/loft that had the neatest furniture and most beautiful light! She was super awesome to let us use her place! Never hurts to ask cause you never know when they are going to say yes!

Little Macy

I don't do baby pics often, weddings are really my specialty. But every now and then I do kids (other than my own). Macy is actually a previous clients baby, so this was really fun to go back and shoot their baby after having shot their wedding. She is three months old in these pics. She is so tiny! I haven't been around a baby in so long, mine are all growing up. I forget how itty bitty they are, and they smell so good!! Anyway, here she is!

Jeff owns Club 2720 in Hot Springs. He originally hired me to do work for him for a magainzine. And then I got to know him and his fiance Winston. Once they got engaged I was so excited they asked me to do their wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony at the Anthony Chapel in Garven Gardens with a great reception to follow Club2720. I'll have to say the place looked AMAZING!! Not that it looks bad to begin with, but Jeff really made that place absolutely stunning!

Susan's Bridals

I know I know, I post like 5 blogs and then nothing for another month or two. But I haven't had anything to post yet because they've mostly been bridals, which I can't post until after the wedding. So Chris and Susan got married on March 21, so I can finally post Susan's bridals, her wedding pics will come later. And I know, I shoulda posted these a few weeks ago, but oh well. I'm going to be better about keeping up with this thing called my blog!

So anyway, here are some of my favs from Susan's bridal shoot. It was one of the most fun bridal shoots I've had because she actually came to a photog gettogether with me. It was me and about 10 other photographers, we had strobes and all kinds of stuff that I don't usually use and she was one of the models. We started of in the Library and then went downtown and shot in some locations a friend and I scouted out that morning. We found this couch on the side of a building and totally put it in the middle of the street! (one perk to have a bunch of male photographers there was having them move everything for me!) It was SO MUCH FUN!!

Michael and Amanda's Wedding

Michael and Amanda, and their families, were so much fun!! They really made me feel like I was a part of the wedding and not just a vendor. That's how I like to be, but these guys really went above and beyond in making me feel welcome. I had so much fun at their wedding, Thankyou guys so much!!

Oh, and Amanda and Michael were such troopers, it was so cold that day, it was FREEZING!!! But the went with me outside and into a store and anything else I asked they did and never complained!! It was a beautiful ceremony and a great reception. Loads of fun!!

So my son Brian is sick with strep throat....poor thing.
Well, yesterday, he just looked so pitiful and sweet on my couch. I think it's because this is one of the few times he's actually still and not being a ham. So, I pulled out the cam and snapped a couple shots. Then realized I haven't taken pics of my kiddos in forever, I've just been so crazy busy!! So, to make it even, I took some shots of my girls. These girls, gosh I've known them for 5 years now. I home schooled my oldest daughter for 4 years, and these gals were in our homeschool group. Grace is one of Tori's friends and Virginia is one of my babysitters. She has babysat for me since Brian was a baby!! I can't believe she's almost grown now....gosh.....
It was super fun shooting these gals. Their mom just let me take off with them and do what we wanted. We started in Old Navy's dressing room....the manager didn't really like that though, so we left...then we shot outside the mall, until we were asked to stop there as well....at last we ended up in a perfectly public street and we were okay from there..LOL!!!

Elizabeth is friend that I met as a host home to the youth group in the church I was attending at the time. I think she was in the 11th grade when we first met? She's a super sweet spirit and we hit it off. It's been so fun to watch her graduate and go off to college. When she told me she was engaged, wow, it made me feel old! And I'm young! LOL! But I already had a wedding booked on the day she chose, so I couldn't shoot her wedding. So I did her engagements and bridals instead! I got to meet her guy, and the two of them are super cute together, she definitely got a keeper!

Viva Las Vegas!!

I went to a conference for photographers in Las Vegas the end of March. It was with the Digital Wedding Forum. I got to meet some of the greatest wedding photographers out there. It was enlightening, inspiring and motivating! My 3 top speakers were the Boutwells, Parker J Phister, and Joe Buissnik. Oh, and John Michael Cooper, he didn't speak, but we got to observe him doing a shoot with a bride and groom. Here's his site www.altf.com/

So anyway, I had a blast, took a few shots myself, but mostly just networked and tried to soak up everything I could!

First night there, I hit the strip, lost $80 bucks and realized gambling wasn't for me. So I resulted to taking pictures instead.

So the following day, rented a car and headed out to Red Rock Canyon. Funny thing there, we rented the economy car, but they were out of those, so we got an H3 instead for no additional cost!! Had so much fun looking around the state park. Took the H3 down some dirt roads, one even had a sign that said "not a mantianed rode, drive at your own risk!" LOL!! It just amazes me how different the country is out there! The desert and mountains are just so different and so beautiful, unlike anything I've ever seen before.

I also had the opportunity to go to a dry lake bad outside the city and caught this shot....

Upward Cheerleading

My oldest daugher, Tori, was a cheerleader for Upward Cheerleading. The season just finished, but I am just getting around to blogging it. Really there's only one shot I got of her that I really like and it's cause she's laughing. She's so hard to photograph these days. She always poses for me, and so it's hard to get a good natural smile from her. So here she is, my mini me.....

And while she was cheering, I was chasing around the "littles." (that's what I called my other two kids, cause they're so close in age, and so much smaller than Tori) I had a ball to entertain them....

Julie's Bridals...

So I get to blog Julie's bridals, too! She also got married in March, on St. Patty's day! Hers was actually my first wedding of the season! But those will come later, I haven't finished those yet. I shot her bridal pics back in January, and get to blog them now cause she's married! Yeah! I shot her in a bed and breakfast here in North Little Rock called "The Baker House" it was perfect for her and her dress. She looked absolutely beautiful!

Okay, so I thought I had uploaded more than this, but apparently forgot. So I have to go and resize them and will post the rest later.....oops!

My Gypsy Tour....

So, a few weeks ago, my husband arranged for my children to visit their aunt in Alabama for 6 days! He had drill for the Navy in MS, so it was sorta on his way. So I got 6 days all to myself! A friend of mine called it my gypsy tour, cause I stopped so many times! LOL! I like it, so it stuck. First I stopped in Memphis to see a friend (and fellow photographer) Christen Jones. Well, when photographers get together, we take pictures. Here are some pics I took of Christen....

So then I drove up to Louiseville KY, and stopped at a couple places along the way....

So first I stopped at a winery, and was really disappointed, it was all dolled up like a gift shop. They had wine tastings, and I tried them all. They were okay, I bought a bottle, just to be polite. They also had these really neat old cars. Not really expected in a winery, but okay, I'll photograph it.

Then I stopped on the side of the road, at what I thought was an exit, but it was a truck weigh in station, OOPS! But it had a parking lot, so I parked, and ran off into this field. Took some pics of some rusty circular thing. Not sure what those are called, but they looked cool, and then did some landscape selfportraits. It was so fun to just take off like that!

And this shot here I took driving down the road. The traffic didn't allow for me to pull over, so I held my hand out the window and set the timer for this shot! LOL! I can only imagine what those around me thought.....

Lauren King (now Holly)

So I finally get to blog about Lauren's bridal pics! I shot these back in October, but of course, couldn't blog them until they got married! She and Jeremy got married on March 23, then I went to Vegas for a week, so I'm finally getting caught up on this! Yeah! Lauren was so much fun to photograph. Not shy at all, and would do anything I asked. At one point I lay on the ground and literally had her run and jump over me, dress and all! Oh, and she had these totally cool boots on that were as colorful as her personality. However, she didn't wear those on the wedding day, she wore sneakers instead! LOL! Lauren reminds me so very much of myself when I got married, she's about the same age I was, and I just see so much of myself in her! What a great chic! hehehe.....

Wow, I don't even know where to start with these two.......really an amazing couple. They have this, hmm.....I don't even know the word! It's like there is just a "glow" about them. I know it sounds cliche, but it's true. They enjoy each other, and even they admitted that they never fight, "it's a waste of time." That's what they said! AWESOME! These are their engagement pics, I can't wait for their wedding!

Oh, and get this, the one time it snows this winter, it snows when we're taking their pics! How awesome is that!

So in an effort to branch out, I went to Heber Springs to take some shots of the beautiful sunset over Greers Ferry Lake....

The darker it got the warmer the colors became, it was so beautiful! I have a new found love for landscapes now!

Snowy Day (sort of)

So it snowed last night! Yeah! Well, there wasn't much on the ground, but you couldn't have convinced my kids otherwise!
Here are a few pictures from this morning.....

Brian and Julianne looking at the snow first thing this morning. Brian was dressed before I even got out of bed! He couldn't wait to go outside!

He was afraid the snow would melt before he got to go out to play. He was looking at me like "why are taking a picture of me instead of getting dressed to go outside"

So I built a rockin fire! (all by myself! love those starter logs!)

Tori and Brian wanted to go inside, Julianne wanted to swing. She was pitching a fit about it......

10 seconds later she was happy. It amazes me how she can go from a fit to smiling in seconds! She still has a tear in her eye!!

When we came in the kids propped their feet up by the fire. And I made hot cocoa, but didn't take any pictures of that.....hehehe.....

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

I love my kids! Have I ever mentioned that? Well, just so you know, I just love my kids! Here is a little video that my brother took on Christmas morning. (please excuse the mess, it was Christmas) Anyway, my oldest daughter Tori started violin lessons this year, and decided to perform a Christmas concert with the first song she learned ("Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"). So Tori played the violin while Brian and Julianne sang the song. It was precious!! One of those moments that you just love being a mom! Be sure to watch to the end, cause they are so proud of themselves, it's hilarious!!!

Pigtail braids

So, on a whim I decided to put my hair in pigtail braids today. Not sure why, guess I wanted to feel like a kid, who knows!! LOL! So my oldest daughter wanted pics of me, she thought the braids were cool. She did a pretty good job!

For fun I thought I'd throw in a shot of Tori with her hair fixed the same way, this was summer 2005. She's going to hate that I pointed out our resemblance. But I couldn't help myself. hehehe

Tim and Amy's Post Wedding Shoot

This was probably some of the most fun I've ever had at a portrait session! It was great because the couple had been married the weekend before, so we were able to take our time and shoot as much as we wanted. We took off downtown, went for a carriage and trolly ride. We played around in the old fashioned phone booth, and photograrphed them fighting with their light sabers! (that was their idea, what fun!) And right as we were leaving, we ran into a guy on stilts who made them balloon hats that connected them! It was an amazing afternoon! So much so, that I'm now suggesting it to all of my clients! Anyway, I'm rambling, just thought I'd share!

I loved how throughout the day, so many people would start clapping for them! It was so sweet!

Brett and Christen

I'm finally getting caught up on my blog.....again.....whew! Brett and Christen were married in St Lucia, so I wasn't able to attend their wedding. This is a few of my favs from the reception they had at the Magnolia Room in Memphis, TN. It was absolutely beautiful! What an amazing couple!!

We started off with some fun pics of them.....

Their first dance was to "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol....I just love that song!

Her 94 year old grandfather was on the dance floor like it was no big thang!!

Here he was dancing to "I'm too sexy" hehehehehe

Seeing couples who've been together for so long, and still in love, is one of my favorite parts of weddings! Christen and Brett were married on her parents 30th wedding anniversary! 30 years!!!!

And because of this, Christen dedicated her boquet to her mother instead of tossing it.....

Thank you Brett and Christen for allowing me to share such a beautiful day! It has been wonderful getting to know the two of you!

Craig and Juila Update....

So I finally finished Craig and Julia's wedding! Yeah! Such a beautiful wedding! Here are some of my fav from the day!

She was getting ready to go have her hair done....taking care of the last minute details....

These pearls were a very special gift from her mother....

So they had to do pics before the ceremony, so we kind of "staged" a walk down an imaginary isle. I had the groomsmen cover Craigs eyes, and had Julia stand at the end of a bridge. When she was all ready and in place the guys stepped away. This was I was able to catch his first reaction. It was precious......

I'll have to admit, it was really fun having a few hours to just take pics without the rush of getting to the reception! We did everything before the wedding!
